Welcome to SIITR Alumni Community Website. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this community platform. By registering an account or using this site in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Purpose of the Platform
SIITR Alumni Community Website is a community platform provided for members to connect, share, and engage with one another in a respectful and constructive manner. Use of the platform is limited to genuine community engagement purposes and must not be used for any unlawful, harmful, or disruptive activity.
2. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and current information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or are used in breach of these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use
When using SIITR Alumni Community Website, you agree that you will not:
- Post or share content that is offensive, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or contains swearing or explicit language;
- Engage in harassment, bullying, intimidation, or targeting of any other member;
- Post content that is racist, discriminatory, or promotes hatred based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or any other characteristic;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or malicious links/content;
- Upload viruses, malware, or attempt to disrupt or compromise the security of the platform;
- Use the platform to collect or harvest other members’ personal information without consent;
- Breach any applicable Australian law while using the platform.
4. Content You Post
You retain ownership of the content you post, but by posting it you grant SIITR Alumni Community Website a non-exclusive licence to display, distribute, and moderate that content within the platform for the purpose of operating the community. You are solely responsible for the content you post and its accuracy and legality.
5. Moderation and Enforcement
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:
- Remove or edit any content that breaches these Terms;
- Issue warnings to members;
- Suspend or permanently terminate any account that breaches these Terms, without prior notice.
Decisions relating to moderation and enforcement are made at our discretion, and we are under no obligation to provide reasons for any such action.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:
- SIITR Alumni Community Website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind;
- We are not liable for any content posted by members, including any offensive, inaccurate, or unlawful content;
- We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform;
- Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SIITR Alumni Community Website, its owners, and administrators from any claim, loss, or damage arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the platform.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of NSW, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state or territory.
